Aims to use AI techniques to find the variation in daily stem growth in Eucalyptus. Using the dendrometers that Chris Erasmus designed and built for his M. Eng, Furaha has collected fine-scale stem diameter variations and environmental data. She’s now applying different models, including Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Random Forest, to develop and train a model which will be capable of predicting fine-scale variations based on environmental conditions. This model will ultimately be used to analyse data obtained at the IMPACT OAL.
