On 25 June, Prof Drew and Dr Moller-Hanekom represented EucXylo at the Forestry Sector Innovation Fund (FSIF) workshop, where innovation and collaboration took centre stage. The two-day event offered a rich exchange of ideas among researchers representing the physiological, genomic, and modelling sectors in forestry, sparking vibrant discussions and fostering collaboration among participants. It was an excellent platform to connect with everyone involved and to explore synergies across the diverse teams to advance forestry research.
Following the inspiring discussions, EucXylo’s talented students, Oluwaseun Gakenou, Anika Keuck, Chris Laubscher-Pretorius, and Jacques Vermeulen, presented their exciting research on 26 June alongside other participating FSIF members.
A huge thank you to Dr Yolandi Ernst and Dr Caroline Hardy from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) for organising this impactful workshop, and to Dr. Ronald Heath and Mr. Stefan Links from Forestry South Africa (FSA) for their invaluable support in making the event possible.
