Mr Richard Carkeek

Richard graduated from Rhodes University with a Honours degree in Botany and Zoology. He has an extensive understanding of the biology field and his main areas for interest include sustainability practices and anthropogenic driven climate change. After graduating from Rhodes, he worked as a junior researcher on a large-scale, two-year climate impact study and while employed at Rhodes, he has worked with many technical areas of large-scale project management and technical assistance. Richard officially joined the team in July 2024 and he’s played a key role in the establishment of the IMPACT OAL. He is responsible for managing the IMPACT OAL and will be working closely with students doing research at this facility.
